Misc of Harar

I took a ton of pictures. The town is something like 1000 years old, and incredible. The people were very friendly (for the most part.). Compared to the capital, it just feels calmer somehow. And the women here dress in every color of the rainbow. We both felt a little out of it after the events of the morning, but here are some of the better pictures I managed to get.

Our transportation for the day. Our cab driver called them tsunamis and viruses, because the multiply like crazy and wipe everything out.

Nure coffee factory, grinding the roasted beans.

Inside a traditional house. This is Rowda's Guesthouse. We actually called this place and tried to get a room, but they were full.

The main market during the day. We originally planned to stay at a hotel right here, and hopefully find a guide and taxi. Having seen the chaos of that market, I'm so glad we had everything arranged by Hanania.

We stopped by the butcher shop.

They are very environmentally responsible here. During the day, the black kites hang out here and eat all the scraps.

At night, the hyenas come into the city through special gates and eat the scraps the kites leave behind.

There are animals everywhere in the city. Goats, chickens, cows, donkeys, sheep, cats, and dogs.
