The first actual monsoon storm to make it to our house since I have been back. Nothing beats the roar of rain on a tin roof, the flash of lightning, the grumble of distant thunder, the creosote smell of rain in the desert... and the choking dust of a summer haboob.
I think I'll step out onto the back porch and enjoy it a while, with the proper accouterments of course...
Update: Ahhhhh, that was great. The temperature must have dropped 20 degrees in about 10 minutes. In the spirit of Kempiak's Gratituesday... I am grateful for the rain, and that I got to see at least one monsoon this summer.
